Come and celebrate National Library Week with Meinders Community Library! April 8 – 14, 2012 is National Library Week and we have some special things planned for our wonderful patrons.
Free Stuff! We have zipper pulls/backpack decorations for the kids this week. Dog tag shapes say “Read, Return, Repeat” in a bright green with a clever design. We’ve got 100 of them and when supplies run out, unfortunately they’ll be gone, so come early in the week if you’d like one! Of course, you can come more than once in the week, too.
Coloring Sheets: We will have special coloring sheets available to celebrate libraries – come and color one to hang up in the library!
Balloons: You can’t go wrong with helium balloons! At the beginning of the week, we’ll be using these as decorations, but any that are still inflated on Saturday the 14th will get to go home with anyone who would like one!
Drawings! We have a special grand prize of a blanket, embroidered with “Snuggle up With a Good Book” that would be great as a car blanket. Stop in throughout the week and register to win! Each time you stop in the library, you can put your name in the drawing! (Only adults are eligible to win) In addition to the car blanket, we will have other prizes, including chocolate and coffee mugs!
Stop in an help us celebrate the library!
PAFL Update: Pipestone Area Friends of the Library is looking for members – anyone who is a friend to Meinders Library is welcome to join! The Friends group works hard to promote the library, raise money for projects, and organize their yearly book sale, in addition to the HUGE amount of support they provide throughout the year. Call for the date of their next meeting.
If you have questions or have a book you’d like to reserve or renew, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at (507) 825-6714. The hours for Meinders Library are Monday through Thursday from 10 AM – 8 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 10 AM – 5 PM. Meinders Community Library is located at 1401 7th Street SW, on the south side of the high school.
